How to play god ...

Being an author means that you get the chance to play god. The process of creating a human is much like creating a novel.

10 steps to create a human (novel)

1. Have a vague idea what your human (novel) should be like.
2. Make sure yu have all the necessary materials (research).
3. Draw a plan (plot thoroughly) and lay out the bones (write down the storyline).
4. Rethink materials (research again) if necessary.
5. Make the parts of the body: lungs, liver, digestive system and add to bones (write story)
6. Don't forget the heart (write believable characters).
7. Flesh out with muscles (fill in details).
8. Cover with skin (find good title).
9. Add brain and nerves (rewrite: control logic and spelling)
10. Control all functions (give to testreaders).

If all goes as planned, the human (novel) will come to live without further help.

The reactions of satisfied readers make me happy. They encourage me to becoming better with every project. For me this feeling of happiness is the reason for my writing and the drug that helps me through the difficult places of my next novel/short story.
